BMW 5 Series E28 KMH Odometer Cluster Gears Kit 
 
Have your E28 odometer gears also succumb to the blistering Aussie heat? I've been there too, which is why I've created this E28 odometer gear set for you! 
 
This gear set consists of 3 gears (12, 12-48, 13-48) and 1 spacer which goes on top of Gear 3 (13-48) to ensure constant engagement of the gears and reduce axial movement of the gears.
 
The gears are 3D Printed by myself in Australia. I use PET-G Filament as it's easy to print, doesn't create toxic fumes and has good heat resistance. 
 
Installation
Installation is super simple, see the listing images for gear locations!
 
The colour of the gears may vary depending on availability - I've tested it and red gears won't make the car faster.
 
Before Buying:
Check if your car has a VDO unit before buying (It is written on the instrument cluster, it will either have VDO or MOTOMETER). These gears will only work for a VDO odometer. 
 
Please ensure your current gears have the same amount of teeth as the replacement set:
Gear 1 (E1): 12 
Gear 2 (E2): 48/12
Gear 3 (E3): 48/13
Meshing Gear 3: 47 - PLEASE verify this on your odometer. 
 
If your gears are completely broken and you can't count the number of teeth, you need to count the number of teeth of the mating gear (Black plastic gear, gear 4 in the chain). If this mating gear has 47 teeth this set will fit. 
 
These gears are aftermarket, not OEM. They are made to order by me in Sydney, Australia. Please allow a 1-5 business days for printing and testing before your package is out for delivery. 
 
Returns:
If the kit doesn't work, please compare them to your OEM odometer gears and ensure they are the same. I manually test every set of gears before sending them out to you so they should work.
